About: Kidsinger Jim has been singing his all-original "POSITIVE-ly Fun" songs exclusively for kids and families for 20 years. A former K-8 music teacher, Jim has completed over 3,500 concerts to date.
Biography:
A singing class in Jim’s senior year at the University of Maryland sparked his interest in music. After graduation in 1984 he moved to Austin, Texas to become a rock singer and songwriter, but found his true calling to be writing songs for children. After returning to Maryland four years later, Jim composed some more children's songs and began singing professionally for kids and families. During his six years as a K-8 music teacher in the 1990’s, Jim was motivated to write some educational songs to add to his growing repertoire. A recent career highlight was composing and recording a song for NASA to teach children how airplanes fly. In 2013, Jim surpassed the milestone of 3,500 performances. Kidsinger Jim's concerts feature his catchy, danceable tunes, captivating stories, and his desire to create a “POSITIVE-ly Fun” experience for all.
