Since I have been a children's entertainer for 25 years, you might imagine that I have thought about a few ways in which the business side of children's entertainment could be improved for both the performers and the people who book them. Having a beautiful grandson in my life (he's 2), I have also been thinking about ways to bring more professional-level live entertainment into daycare centers and preschools. So with quite a bit of relief that I'm actually getting some of these ideas out of my head and into this website - it's time to give them a try.
Booking Store - I wanted to allow my existing and prospective clients to pay for a performance (or make a deposit) through this website. More of my clients are using credit cards these days to pay for performances, so I decided the time was right. I have also been pleasantly surprised how popular it's been selling advance tickets to my own events in the store. It's really nice to have an idea of attendance before the day of the event. Lastly, I have so many different shows to offer now it's become important to be able to list them in an organized fashion. The booking store is stocked and open for business in time for 2018 bookings! One feature I am enjoying already is the opportunity to utilize the store to put shows 'on sale' during non-peak times - like the winter. "Piggyback Gigs" A long-time goal of mine has been to devise a way to expand my clientele by expanding the size of the market that can hire pro children's performers. I sought to create a program that would better include facilities and groups that to date have been mostly shut out of the market. This idea came to me one day years ago after a mall show. While other performers have no doubt given discounts to certain clients on their own, I believe a more structured program is required in order to have any real effect on the market. I have designed such a program, and it's time to get it started here at ChildrensMusic.com. One of the cool things about "Piggyback Gigs" is that it's actually available for any type of facility or client. If you like bargains as much as I do, I think you will like the concept. If you do, then let's get piggybacking!
